Wheat Hub student, Jessica Schmidt, together with scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany and the Adelaide node of The Australian Plant Phenomics Facility have developed a large scale computed tomography (CT) scanning method for assessing yield components, enabling them to investigate drought and heat tolerance in wheat rapidly and with greater accuracy. Details of the research can be seen in their recent publication in Plant Methods and today’s media release on the University of Adelaide’s Newsroom. Congratulations to Jessica and her co-authors on this significant step forward in research into abiotic stress tolerance in wheat.
